Guise, isn’t Hamish’s URL Hemogobblin? Can we contact him/her there?

((Nope, that’s me! Sorry for the extended absence once again! We had some unfortunate stuff going on with my little sister, related to what happened last time. Turns out her ex was verging on physically abusive and she didn’t tell anyone, so now we may be taking him to court. I wish I could channel Lestrade’s law enforcement experience for this one. Instead I just get his craving for donuts. *SIGHS*

I did speak with Hamish once on that account, but unfortunately it was just through their RP blog — it was how I found out about the RP in the first place. So no word at all from them so far? D: I wonder what happened, she/he was really nice and seemed to have a lot of plans for this RP.))

((Ooc: I’m not yet dead!))

Ack, sorry for the long and sudden absence! We had an unexpected mental health emergency with my younger sister, so for a while we were going back and forth between the hospital to see her, but she just came home today, and everything’s all sorted. She’s alright now, and I will be on later tonight to continue rping with you lovely folks. :D

“That’s kind of you. Tell you what, let me return the favor.” The officer shifted his arm to wrap around Rose’s shoulders while he slipped his free hand into his pocket. “Hang onto this,” he instructed, flashing a business card at her with a grin. “And you just give me a ring if, during your travels, you ever need somewhere to stay.” Once it was in her hand, he introduced himself. “I’m Ben.”

‘Don’t tell her your pub name,’ The forgotten officer was inwardly chanting, ‘For the love of God, if you have any self-preservation at all, don’t tell her that nickname.’

“So what shall I call you, then? Besides beautiful.”

The doors opened, and Ben proudly escorted Rose out of the elevator. Heads were turning, but for all the wrong reasons.

The officer was delighted to see Rose responding to his advances. “Lestrade’s? Of course I can.” He ignored the vaguely panicked warning glances he was getting from the other officer as he boldly led the way back to the elevator. “So, straight to the DI, huh? Must be important. I hope nobody’s giving you too much trouble.”

A voice behind them asked, “Why else would she be here?” The young man who recognized Rose was trailing after them, futilely trying to save the other’s skin.

“Maybe she’s concerned about something going on in the city,” His naive colleague said nonchalantly. “Some of our citizens are more proactive than you give them credit for.” He turned his head to smile approvingly down at Rose.

As Rose walked along arm in arm with the man, she saw the younger officer throwing panicked looks at his friend. So he knew who she was. She looked over her shoulder and tossed him a knowing wink before turning back to the man at her side. She pressed slightly closer to him and responded to him. ” Why, I wouldn’t say that I’m so much concerned about something in the city. More like I have to give him a run down of what’s been happening lately.”

She paused for a moment and gave him a coquettish grin. Oh she was starting to feel just the slightest bit guilty for being such a tease. But no matter, they’d soon arrive at the office anyway, and she would be reunited with her dear uncle. ” So,” she began,” what do you do around here? Are you new?”

After the wink from Rose, the shorter officer let out a breath with a tiny nod. His friend just wasn’t going to get it. Maybe next time he’d listen when people tried to tell him things. Whatever happened, the burden was off his shoulders now.

Oblivious as ever, the officer escorting Rose into the elevator was preening under the attention. “Good eye,” he complimented as the metal doors shut in front of them. “I’m six months into the job, so I’m not doing a lot of field work right now. I’ll get there, though.” He looked to her curiously. “And what about you? Are you someone from the media? I haven’t seen you on telly, I’d remember. Journalist, then? Oh, I hope not.” He grinned. “You’re far too pretty to be stuck behind a desk all day, if you don’t mind me saying.”

The second officer, or rather, the third wheel, stood in the corner of the elevator and kept his eyes fixed on the changing floor numbers, having never found it so hard to stay silent. He wasn’t entirely sure whether he would have said something to help his coworker or start laughing at him.

Notable shoes, unusual but not ragged clothing, an all-around ████████ bloke. Got it. From the description you’re giving me, he should stand out in a crowd, now that we know what we’re looking for. Then again, with what the kids like to wear, I guess it depends on what area he’s hiding in. I don’t want to make a mistake and go after the wrong person. I’ll be known as ‘the fashion police’ for the rest of my days. On that note, let’s hold off on the knighthood. I’m honored at the offer, but my colleagues would never let me live it down. I’ll be more than happy just to make sure this guy isn’t given the chance to do anything dangerous.

I was stating simple terms, though little detail is available for true discussion… You must care about your image immensely. The ████████ is of national importance but he is not  ██████. He is ██████ and ████████████, this must be my brother’s reason for idolizing him… Family history, nothing to be concerned about. Now if we are done reviewing I should let you be on your way, you must have many cases to solve, many stressful colleges to work with.

Believe me, I said goodbye to any ideas about maintaining an ‘image’ the day I started working with your brother. I’d do it all over again, but if working with Sherlock taught me anything, it’s that pride and strict adherence to social norms don’t always belong in this line of work (don’t tell him that last part, he’ll be using it as an excuse at every turn). The comments would be annoying after a while, but overall I don’t want the knighthood because I don’t need it. It sounds… pretentious. There’s no one I’m looking to impress. I’m comfortable where I am.

Idolize? Sherlock? Alright, something is definitely going on here. No wonder you’re so eager to find him.

We’ve been working on a few cases, but it’s been slow lately, so don’t hesitate to contact me as you need me.

Good, very good. I will relay partial information to those of which are concerned. Do keep an eye on Sherlock though. He has been stumbling into the paths of unwanted adversaries as of recent. I fear he may become invested in something far…

A nearby elevator opened its doors and two officers walked out, one of them holding a file intended for the secretary. His companion did a double-take when he caught a glimpse of Rose. He recalled her, but only vaguely.

The taller of the two gave Rose a smile as he passed by her. After all, she was an attractive young lady, and there was no sign that he recognized who she was. “Good morning,” he said smoothly.

The second officer shyly tore his gaze away from Rose, not wanting his staring to be taken the wrong way. He was relatively new to the department, but he knew he’d seen that face before. Suddenly, it hit him. His eyes widened and he opened his mouth to speak, but before he could get a word out, his buddy was already looking over his shoulder at Rose with an unmistakably flirtatious grin. “We’re on lunch break, but if it’s an urgent matter, we’d be more than willing to help you out.”

Rose heard the elevator open with a ping as two young officers stepped out. She smiled at them politely and tried to ask them if they knew where her uncle was. But before she could get a word in edgewise the taller of the two men greeted him with a rather suggestive grin. Rose looked at the man who stood next to him; he seemed to recognize her. She then turned her attention back towards the man in front of her. Oh, he thought he could hit on her, now could he? She wasn’t going to accept, she belonged wholly to the Doctor…

She smiled, a brilliant thought entering her mind. Her uncle hated, and she meant hated it when people hit on her. She had always been a bit of a Daddy’s girl ( well, Uncle’s girl) Rose decided it might be a bit of fun to watch the poor man be scolded by her uncle for hitting on her. She smiled at the taller man and looped her arm with his. ” Could you show me the way to his office?” She asked with a grin.

The officer was delighted to see Rose responding to his advances. “Lestrade’s? Of course I can.” He ignored the vaguely panicked warning glances he was getting from the other officer as he boldly led the way back to the elevator. “So, straight to the DI, huh? Must be important. a-rose-and-a-wolf:

Rose was bored, tried and true. The Doctor had said that he was going to visit an old friend of his in London. By an old friend he could have meant any dozens of people..But Rose knew which one he was going to see, and he was going to see Sherlock Holmes.

Rose paced…

Rose stopped at the front doors of the building where her uncle worked. It was strange, she thought, that it was so empty. Usually the building was just buzzing with cases and detectives running about. She stepped in through the wide glass doors and went up to a secretary that was sitting at a desk in the lobby. ” Hello, I’m here to see a Greg Lestrade.” she said. The secretary looked up at her, one eyebrow raised.

” Oh really now?” she said, ” And why might that be?”

” He’s my uncle, I haven’t seen him in a while… I came to visit.”

The secretary looked her over before finally muttering a “whatever” under her breath and letting her in. Rose stepped past the desk and started walking forward but stopped when she realized she had forgotten where her uncle’s office was. Muttering a couple of curses under her breath, she racked her memory to see if she could recall anything of the building and it’s layout.

“Good morning,” he said smoothly.

detectiveinspectordonut asked: Hey, Mycroft, remember what we discussed last week?…

Good, very good. I will relay partial information to those of which are concerned. Do keep an eye on Sherlock though. He has been stumbling into the paths of unwanted adversaries as of recent. I fear he may become invested in something far beyond our liking, if you do catch my drift. ████████████████ are here. They will be dispatched to ████████ in ████████. We wouldn’t want any prying eyes, so we have inlisted the help of various institutions such as Scotland Yard and ████████. And it is not a fairy tail, Greg. As much as I may state this fact to my brother, or anyone to you, he is most certainly real.

I’ll do my best to look after him. I know you used to worry that having ████████ would enable him to be more reckless, but after seeing him with ████████ and ████████, I’ve noticed major differences. I suppose you can’t really call it ‘settling down’ because he doesn’t settle, but between them, they should be able to keep him out of trouble… for the most part.

Oh great, a ████████ ████████ , that’s just what this city needs. If you forward me information on this ████████ character as you get it, I’ll do what I can from my end.

Rose was bored, tried and true. The Doctor had said that he was going to visit an old friend of his in London. By an old friend he could have meant any dozens of people..But Rose knew which one he was going to see, and he was going to see Sherlock Holmes.

Rose paced around the console room, utterly and mindbogglingly bored like she never had been before. She hopped up into the crook of the Tardis coral that grew in branches around the console, and laid there for a bit.

She thought over what she could do…she could always explore the Tardis a bit, but without the Doctor to explain everything it was just no fun. She sat up. She was in London, wasn’t she? Right time period. Right date. She could always take the tube and visit her Uncle Lestrade, she knew where he worked. Besides, it was about time for a visit anyway. She hopped off and grabbed her jacket and headed out the door. A couple moments later, however, she turned back inside and scribbled a note for the Doctor. Finally leaving, she set off to fulfill a long overdue visit with her uncle.

Lestrade had closed himself off in his office for the morning, isolating himself as much as one could while in a building teeming with people. He took a sip from his coffee and as he felt the warmth hit his belly, he already felt more alert - the first cup of the day was something to be cherished. Holding the hot beverage in one hand, he shuffled through the papers on his desk.

An hour and a half later, he decided that peace and quiet was vastly overrated. The cardboard cup now empty, he picked it up and disposed of it on the way out of his office. He held up a hand to halt colleague in his tracks.

“Anything?” Lestrade asked him.

The young man must have recognized the desperation on Lestrade’s face, or maybe he was feeling the strain of inactivity himself, because he shook his head with a tiny frown. “Nothing’s come up. No new leads on yesterday’s case, either.”

“Back to the paperwork, then,” Lestrade said grimly. “Alright, thanks.”
